This model contains three hearts. The first shows normal heart anatomy. The second represents myocardial infarction (MI): it demonstrates a partially healed, thinned, and discolored 5 infarcted areas and includes a thrombus in the apex of the heart. The third demonstrates congestive heart failure (CHF) as a result of hypertension. The left ventricle hypertrophy and the correspondingly enlarged and distorted shape of the heart is shown both internally and externally. All models are approximately 50% actual size. Normal and MI hearts: 4 inches x 2-1/4 inches x 1-3/4 inches. CHF: 4 inches x 2-1/2 inches x 2-1/4 inches.
